Mathematical activity in preschool settings Many different activities can contribute to children’s mathematical learning in a preschool setting and there are many different ways in which these can be described and categorised. This section will bring together a range of ideas, fi rst to consider how activities might be organised and planned, and secondly to show the range of different types of activity in which children can engage in mathematical learning.
