ABSTRACT
Imagine what life would be like today without radio or sound recordings. The world would suddenly be a much quieter place. Because of radio and records, our lives are filled with sound, mostly the sound of music. Our homes have radios in many rooms, and most homes have complex, multi-speaker stereo systems that can give us radio transmissions or recordings from long-playing records, audio cassettes, or CDs at the flick of a remote control.
