ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the production of UN peacekeeping by a UN permanent army versus the current ad hoc UN system for producing its missions. The permanent army is an old idea that did not concretize. However, this book sustains that a UN standing army would certainly improve UN capacities in deploying its missions and in post-conflict management.
