ABSTRACT

Understanding the individuals involved in workplace bullying, and the

interactions between them and the organisation, is fundamental to making

sense of this problem. What is it about the targets of bullying behaviour that

makes them targets? Why do people who use bullying behaviours perform in

such destructive ways? Why do some types of organisations appear to have

major bullying problems? In this chapter, we will consider what we know

about targets and about people who use bullying behaviours, and talk about

the other roles and factors that contribute to whether bullying occurs.
