Teachers change in countless ways during the process of their careers … They become more experienced, at least in the sense of having taught for a longer time. They often learn new skills. They do things better. They become more knowledgeable … They sometimes become more patient, wise and witty. Some of them, however, become discouraged, fatigued, ‘burnt out’, cynical, lazy. A few of them go dotty.
