ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a brief overview of the legal basis of police investigations of alleged crimes (criminal investigation) for police officers at the beginning of their service. The chapter seeks to stimulate interest and awareness in the powers and roles of investigators and to give some examples showing how and why criminal law has changed in recent years.
