Looking to the future: researching and developing research supervision skills

There are many pressures on research in the curriculum. At an undergraduate level it is resource intensive, time hungry and difficult to assess in a consistent way. At the other end of the higher education scale, major pressures on the doctorate include concerns about its purpose and completion rates (sometimes called attrition). At all levels there are growing moves to harmonise education across Europe.
