ABSTRACT
Chapter 4 describes the common themes identified by university teachers in both countries. You will remember from Chapter 2 that we asked teachers to tell us the key characteristics of students who perform well, and those who do less well. We then surveyed students to identify those with the characteristics. Finally we compared exam or assessment performance in our interviewees’ classes with survey responses to see if students achieved the expected levels of performance.
