ABSTRACT

In the preface to this volume, we argued that ‘Ours is a connected world. No event or issue is isolated from every other. What happens anywhere in the world can effect each of us’. Further, we noted that there are repercussions from this connectedness and in Chapter 1 we discussed the challenge of aligning our students’ education with their future needs. The purpose of this chapter is to draw together the issues that we discussed in the previous chapters and the knowledge we developed through our extensive research programme on curriculum, and to look ahead to how we can help to provide our students with knowledge that counts in a global community.
