ABSTRACT
The major feature of focussed elaborators is their concern to break away from inherited scripts or established patterns of socialization. They are characterized by high narrative intensity and spend a good deal of time in reflection or ‘in narration’. Whilst most focussed elaborators shared some common features, as we shall see, their narrative responses, and more particularly their elaborated courses of action, varied significantly.
