Practitioners and researchers continue to expand the scope and relevance of EFT to couple therapy . Grounded in a humanistic tradition, the practice of EFT represents a discovery-oriented tradition steeped in experiential learning that values the inherent strengths and resources that individuals possess . The cases summarized in this volume illustrate the ongoing lessons learned by therapists working with the everyday challenges found among their couples . This chapter reviews key themes and interventions that comprise the innovative practices explored in this casebook . Several common themes are explored in this review .
