ABSTRACT

This chapter continues the practical problems phase of developing a researchable interpretative project. Conducting an inquiry project of any size may at first appear to be a daunting task. To make that process manageable, I will provide a step-by-step outline designed to move from a research idea to a written statement of research purpose (defining the problem) to a researchable question to a conceptual plan for a study. While there are challenges to beginning an inquiry project, even a person new to interpretative inquiry has the assets needed to conceptualize, initiate, and complete a project. Assessing the assets needed to conduct an inquiry project, along with breaking the task down into smaller steps, will help to ensure that your project can be completed.
