ABSTRACT

In the last chapter I sought to show that a human science which adopts a Schutzian subjectivist-interpretive methodology would be a fully rigorous science. In this chapter I shall turn my attention to some often-encountered difficulties or sticking points within a subjectivist-interpretive methodology, seeking to resolve these and to clarify the position which the mature Schutzian version of a subjectivist methodology takes up in relation to these problems. 1
