ABSTRACT

This book has hopefully opened up opportunities for you to improve and enjoy your teaching more. We hope that you now have a bank of concrete ideas and insights into how you might develop your own X-Factor and influence your teaching for the good. Some of the key features of a teacher's X-Factor are fairly obvious (for example, confidence, poise), while others may not be so (for example, positioning in the classroom, body language). Some features of your X-Factor will come more naturally than others (e.g. smiling) but all of them can be deliberately developed to create that attractiveness and interest that appeal to students.
