ABSTRACT

In Chapter 1 we outlined some of the fundamental issues associated with collaborative working. Now, as we approach the conclusion of the book, we return to this central theme and look more specifically at the strategies for collaborative working. As inferred throughout this book the role of the design manager, and to a certain extent the design integrator, may be influential in the adoption and effective use of new technologies to facilitate collaborative design management. These strategies need to be aligned to the business and the project portfolio, a central tenet of effective design management thinking.
