ABSTRACT
Like human bells – voices ring – while wind wrinkles the pool’s cool skin.
Loafing on the patio. Flies dodge each blow –
busy slapping myself.
Beneath the porch light a gecko waits;
to welcome us home.
The moon edges a slice over the mountain –
then floats up like a great balloon.
