ABSTRACT

DM: I don't think that's my type of work. If I get scripts from somebody else in such a detailed state I always send them back and say, ''You have to direct it yourself." Really. My scripts work for me because I know I'm going to direct them. When I get a script, I read it from the outside. I look for a story that moves me, that is passionate, that is funny. What I don't want is somebody telling me to use a particular lens now, or pan from here to here, or have the camera zoom in.
