ABSTRACT

In principle, assessing ICT is not so different from assessing any other National Curriculum subject. The process will be the same in that teachers will plan a lesson or series of lessons, with learning objectives that can be stated as learning outcomes against which to assess a child. Teachers will then use a range of assessment strategies to make judgements about pupils. Those strategies will be the same for ICT. For example, techniques such as questioning, observation, discussion, monitoring work in progress and assessing a finished product will all be used as and when appropriate.
