ABSTRACT
A quick glance at Dubrovnik’s plan reveals that the town has no singular square. What is noticeable is the slender east-west street known as the Placa that connects the western entry of the city to the harbor at the eastern side. Though a street and not what might be considered a square in the traditional sense, nevertheless it functions as the town’s square for shopping, socializing and civic events.
