ABSTRACT
The Western or Wailing Wall and Temple Mount are probably the most revered, most contested and, proportionately, the most adjacent sacred spaces in the world. Judaism and Islam and, with less zeal, Christianity hold the area as sacred so that while visiting the site, there is a strange sense of august holiness and, regrettably, underlying tension.
