ABSTRACT
Like many skillfully designed objects or spaces, Place des Vosges is a cohesive square which appears straightforward, yet is refined through its subtleties. Its mix of uses at different scales has allowed the square to be occupied by a range of people at different times of the day and illustrates how streets and spaces need a mix of incomes, activities and uses to keep the space vibrant and successful.
