ABSTRACT

Lincoln Center Institute and Aesthetic Education For the past twenty-seven years, Lincoln Center Institute (LCI) has developed and refined its own distinctive approach to the arts and education. At present, the Institute works with over one hundred P-12 schools and more than eight hundred teachers within a thirty-mile radius of New York City. The majority of these schools and teachers are in urban areas. Based on the vision of Mark Schubart, the Institute's founder, and the work of Maxine Greene, its philosopher-in-residence, the Institute's practice has been woven from a combination of philosophy and artistry.
