ABSTRACT

Have you ever watched a cat yawn? Or a horse, when it gets a tickle in its nose? They both stretch the jaw wide open. Stretching open the whole jaw to yawn or laugh is one of the pleasures of life! Have you watched a small child laugh? When we are small, laughter seizes us in the middle, throws back our heads, releases our jaws and fills us with exuberant and wonderful energy and breath. Mirth, once touched, bubbles, spills over, erupts, bursts out, explodes, holds its sides, chortles, gasps for breath, streams tears, creases over, rolls about, shrieks and gurgles. At least, it did when we were younger. . .
