ABSTRACT

The next three chapters build a map of elements of higher level learning in order to locate the process of reflection within in, ultimately as a means of attaining better understanding of reflection and its role in learning. The first two of these chapters discuss issues of learning that are related to the construction of the map – in a sense, building the elements of the map as they go. This chapter begins with a brief overview of the difficulties of studying learning before it goes into further detail about the development of the map of learning and the representation of learning.
