ABSTRACT

The Real Life Heroes workbook was designed to promote the understanding and commitment children need to surmount trauma. The intent is not to simply tell a child’s life story, but rather, to rebuild a story of people who care for a child based on strength, courage, and belonging. The heroes in this work are real people, the women and men, who define what it means for a child to live in a family, to overcome real crises, and to live in a community with adults who care about children.
