Investigations and knowledge book
In reality, what sometimes happens is that children are asked to 'write up' what happened in class. The excitement of the investigation is lost in recording which can be dull and purposeless; the results are not put into context, nor do the children get a chance to reflect on what they had guessed the results would be. There is seldom an opportunity to think about how the investigation might be improved, and almost never a chance to do it again.
