ABSTRACT
Andrew was desonayed at the same time that an orisha was settled in his head because he fell for the first time. He was sixteen years old. From the time that he fell to the time that the orisha was settled was a period of three weeks. During that time, he said, everyone thought he was mad because he was constantly shaking and generally not in control of himself. This type of erratic behaviour was sometimes referred to as "caro majai." It was only after an elderly woman recognised what was happening to him that the ceremonies were performed on him. Andrew has been fine ever since, and he is now in his sixties. Apart from being an amambwa he was also a Spiritual Baptist leader and a senior practitioner of the Kabalistic Side (see Chapter 9).
