ABSTRACT

The ultimate responsibility for a pupil’s access to the D&T curriculum is that of the classroom teacher. Support sta! facilitate the delivery of an appropriately di!erentiated curriculum under the direction of the D&T teacher. (Appendix 7.1 on the CD that accompanies this book gives advice on how to make the most of your support sta!.)

Design and technology is a practical subject, one which encourages children to think and do, to try out and reflect. This type of activity can be very time consuming for teachers and therefore extra help is often welcomed in the classroom.
