It is very nearly impossible to explain "map" cataloguing without mentioning MARC tags, and the authors of this volume have borne this out. Therefore the following MARC field table is provided. In addition, the table includes tags which may be used for bibliographic records of cartographic materials, whether monograph or serial; the second column contains a code indicating which fields should be filled out to create a core serial record for CONSER.
