ABSTRACT

Sounds like a simple question. Of course, an organization should be involved in advocating for its neighborhood. In Democracy in America, Alexis deTocqueville wrote about Americans and their propensity to form associations: "I have often admired the extreme skill with which the inhabitants of the United States succeed in proposing a common object for the exertions of a great many men and in inducing them voluntarily to pursue it" (deTocqueville, 1831-1832).
