ABSTRACT
In most downtowns, crimes related to automobiles comprise the majority of FBI index crimes. Theft of the auto, auto parts, or personal items taken from the auto, account for 52 percent of the crime reported in downtown Dallas annually. Together, the fear of crime, the price, and customer confusion create the "hassle factor" of downtown parking.
