ABSTRACT
Although clearly a less-populated landmass occupying climatic and vegetative zones that many would view as uninhabitable, Canada has a young, evolving urban context, linked by diverse demographic, language, and geographical zones. The issues of sustainability, housing, homelessness, and transportation are not necessarily unique, but the political framework and mechanisms available to deal with urban issues are significantly different.
