ABSTRACT

Lifestyles, interests, values, expectations, and symbols by themselves do not explain the totality of our complex behaviors. We need to also consider how we think, not just what we think; we need to also consider why we behave in the ways we do, not just how we behave. Following the lead of Brooke Warrick, formerly of SRI, I have been using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) for this purpose for a number of years. Warrick (1984) overlaid the MBTI onto the VALS typology with remarkable results.
