ABSTRACT

MOVEMENTS OF THE PARTS OF THE LIMBS When we write movements for the parts of the limbs, two things must be considered - the segment that takes a new direction in space and the joint in which the action (flexion or extension) occurs. The same action could be described in two different ways: (1) spatial change, that is, movement of the part of the limb to a new direction; (2) anatomical change, the degree of flexion or extension of a joint. This latter description is given in Chapter 19.
