As its name suggests, the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan occupies the northwest of the country. Of all four provinces, it is the smallest in terms of area and the third largest in terms of population. This chapter aims to give an overview of the people and environment, governance structures, and problems and issues affecting the inhabitants of the region.
