Studies Holbein's influence on artists working in England from his death in 1543 to the time of Nicholas Hilliard. Notes the extensive travel of artists across the English Channel, citing the works of painters such as John Bettes, Gerlach Flicke, Guillim Stretes and Hans Eworth. Observes stylistic links with official portrait fashions of the Habsburg Court.
