ABSTRACT

You might know Beatrix Potter as an author and artist. She was also a talented scientist with particular interests in the natural world. She had a rare ability to make connections between her art and her science through her stories and illustrations. She was a very creative individual who did not see the world in terms of separate subjects - perhaps precisely because she didn't study them formally in school. You might also know that before children arrive in school they do not see learning in terms of discrete subjects. They are, however, curious, imaginative and playful learners and do not see things the same way as most adults do.
