ABSTRACT

The Thai word ngo' in present day usage denotes three things. First, it is an exclusively Thai word for one of the aboriginal (Orang Asli) Senoi peoples of the Malay peninsula. In common Thai perception of their physiognomy they are seen as having relatively dark complexion and thick curly hair; and in terms of habitat they are seen as living in the forest or forest fringes in Patalung and Trang provinces of southern Thailand.
