ABSTRACT

Caring for babies and toddlers takes time, commitment and stamina. They need a combination of physical and emotional care. This involves giving them attention, love and time, and showing them that you find pleasure in being with them. A baby that feels wanted and secure within his relationship with his main carer(s) is likely to be a happy baby or toddler. Table 4.1 identifies the different aspects of caring for a baby or toddler that will be covered in this chapter. For more information on these topics see Green (2000).
