Family and Household As habitation sites have become a strong focus of investi gation for Mesoamerican archaeologists, so have family and household, respectively the social structural and behavioral features represented by residential remainsthe house and its accompaniment of artifacts, burials, and surrounding space. Family and household in ancient Mesoamerica are further illuminated by ethnographic, epigraphic, ethnohistoric, and linguistic information.
