ABSTRACT
Archaeological regions of jade-working can be identi fied for the Olmec of Mexico, the Maya Lowlands, central Honduras, and northern Costa Rica. Other regions-the Valley of Mexico, the Valley of Oaxaca, and highland Guatemala-were mainly recipient consumers of already finished products. There are, in addition, occasional looted jade artifacts that are attributed to areas in the Mexican state of Guerrero.
