ABSTRACT

A game is an activity with an element of competition to provide a purpose for engaging with the game. Games may involve the use of dice, counters, boards, cards, models and so on. Usually they will involve some kind of counting, collecting or matching. They may involve a scoring system, a race to see who finishes first or a whole group collective activity with a common purpose. Science-related games can be built around common everyday games such as bingo, beetle drive and snakes and ladders.
