ABSTRACT

Madison Area Technical College (MATC), a two-year technical and community college in south central Wisconsin, operates at 10 locations and offers more than 140 associate degree, technical diploma, short-term certificate and apprenticeship programs, liberal arts transfer classes, basic skills and high-school completion options, and many adult continuing education opportunities. The college enrolls 40,000 total students annually with 24,000 students in degree programs. A surprising 96 percent of graduates remain in the state after graduation. The college employs about 1,500 part-time faculty and around 465 full-time faculty.
