ABSTRACT

In a certain sense, of course, all professions are knowledgebased. Knowledge has played an important role in all forms of society; it has been and still is a component of the most diverse activities, occupations and trades. Thus it is important to differentiate further in reference to knowledge and its typical products or results. There are various categories at our disposal in this context; for example, the differentiation between theoretical and practical knowledge. Knowledge-based professions refers to that growing part of the labour force that deals with theoretical knowledge.1
