ABSTRACT

Goldman (1988) insisted that psychoeducation (PE) is essential in all forms of psychotherapy and that teaching is core to almost all forms of medical care. More specifically, psycho-education plays an important role in cognitive behavioral psychotherapy (CBP). Psychoeducation facilitates genuine informed consent. In this chapter, you will find the definition of psychoeducation, its functions, and learn methods for making PE relevant. You will also find resources and tips for using these resources. Examples are often provided to illustrate how you might introduce and use some PE concepts and resources.
