ABSTRACT
This study as a whole focuses on Maijbhandari text production: Chapters 3 to 5 deal with different types of texts, and in a way Chapter 6 also relies on primary textual material. The present chapter, by contrast, is based on fieldwork observations. It gives an overview of the structure and religious practice of the Maijbhandari movement as observed during two stays in 1999 and 2001, using fieldwork notes, interviews and conversations with individuals on the spot.
