ABSTRACT
Terrorism itself consists of a number of distinct strategies and a wide variety of tactical techniques. Which techniques are used by which groups have varied by time and circumstance. Terrorist organizations have proven that they are quite adaptable. They have adopted whatever tactics are available to them, which fit the situations they are facing. Five broad or general strategies that terrorist organizations have used and continue to use will be discussed below. That discussion will be followed by a consideration of the various tactics that may be used by groups as well as the kinds of weaponry that terrorist organizations have relied upon.
