ABSTRACT

Introduction Two critical elements are necessary to build the foundations for an effective peace process in a complicated situation like the Palestinian-Israeli struggle: peacemaking leaders and the preparation of the opposing societies for an effective peace process. These two elements are intertwined. Peacemaking leaders need the peoples’ support to deliver their agenda. People that are eager for a reasonable peace process are likely to invite peacemaking leaders to the stage of politics and demand substantial progression in the direction of peace. The question is: How to create this circulating structure?
