ABSTRACT
Seventeen years after the adoption of the LLMG Convention, it was found that the limits of liability prescribed by the Convention had been eroded by inflation and were no longer adequate to satisfy possible claims. To address this issue, the Legal Committee decided at its sixty-eighth session to embark on a revision of the Convention. 1 It was on the basis of this decision that the UK submitted a Draft Protocol to the LLMC Convention to the Legal Committee. 2
