ABSTRACT
Jimmy was born in a Baltimore neighborhood near Johns Hopkins University, one of the finest universities in the United States. However, Jimmy and his family did not benefit from living so close to this prestigious institution. Their neighborhood was riddled with violence and drug trafficking. Jimmy’s mother, Teresa, had even been interviewed by David Simon, a city reporter for the Baltimore Sun whose work was the basis for the acclaimed HBO drama The Wire. She claimed that one of her stories inspired the character Patrice, who appeared in the fourth season. This didn’t matter much to Jimmy; he still had to live in a rough neighborhood.
